Teddy's Soft Bar is a true legend in Oslo, and it has become incredible popular the last years. It's a very old place, and it hasn't changed much since it opened in the end of the ¨1950's. In fact the original interior is quite popular again. In the corner is an old Wurlitzer juke-box with hits from the 50's and 60's, surrounded by small respatex-tables and in the bar is an old milk shake-mixer. This was in fact the first place in Oslo to serve milk shakes. They serve some norwegian dishes and seafood at a reasonable price, but it's also a nice place to hang out at nights.

Another nice and cheap place in Majorstua. This place is owned by the Hare-Krishna organization in Oslo. Their philosophy is that "we are what we eat" so the food is prepared according to the ancient ayurveda traditions. People working here are volunteers, and you take your own food from a buffet. The food is vegetarian, but check it out anyway because it's very good.

Curry & Ketchup is an indian restaurant and it's located in Majorstua. This is normally a very expencive area, but the prices in this restaurant are very good. Maindishes from 10 USD and up. It's very popular and can be quite crowded sometimes.

This is a nice and very special place located in Majorstua. The door to the toilet is a secret door "hidden" in a bookshelf. Inside the toilet you can hear screams and wolfs howling. Check out the mirror, you might see something strange inside there (besides yourself). The food is quite cheap, and very good. It's also a excellent place for going out at night.

Cafe Sara has great food, and it's very cheap here. Maindishes are from 10 USD and up. They have many turkish specialities which you should check out. It's also a very nice place to have some beers in the evening. Music can be a bit loud if you're eating here very late though. Located near Youngstorget and close to Anker Hostel.

Brasseri 45 is a very nice restaurant, and it's in the 2nd floor with a great view of Karl Johansgate. The reason for the name is that they have 45 small dishes for 45,- NOK (ca 7 USD), which is incredibly cheap! The maindishes are more expencive, but still very cheap. Absolutely worth a visit!

Al Chouf is a libanesian restaurant serving meza and other exotic dishes for a reasonable price. From wednesday to saturday they also have belly dancing. It's located in Frogner, close to the city.

In the geological museum you can find precious stones and rocks, and also fossils including a dinosaur skeleton. It is situated in Toyen, with the botanical garden and zoological museum, all a part of the University in Oslo.

The botanical garden was founded in 1814. Today there are more than a 1000 plants in the botanical garden, both from Norway and other places in the world. You can find waterfalls, nature trails, useful plants, aromatic plants and tropical plants. Everything is nicely organised and the atmosphere is quiet and friendly.

Right next to the metrostation 'Tøyen' is the Munch-museum. Edvard Munch is perhaps the most famous norwegian painter, and he lived from 1863-1944. In the museum you can see a large amount of his work, including portraits and graphic works.
