The norwegian Royal Palace is situated on the top of Karl Johansgate in Oslo, with a great view of the street.
It was made by the architect Hans Ditlev Linstow from 1824-1848. Orginally designed to be much bigger, but because of lack of funding some parts where cut in the buildingprocess.
Around the Royal Castle is a beautiful park that is open to everyone. There are many small lakes where you can feed the birds, and it is a great place to take a relaxing walk.
Every day at 13.30 is the changing of the royal guards in front of the castle, a traditional event that you should see if you have the chance.
In the summer you can take a guided tour of the Royal Castle in Oslo. The tour lasts about an hour, and there are also guided tours in english. You have to buy the ticket in a postoffice before you come to the castle, and it costs about 95,- NOK for adults and 85,- NOK for children/students.
The Royal Castle is located in Drammensveien 1.
