The botanical garden was founded in 1814. Today there are more than a 1000 plants in the botanical garden, both from Norway and other places in the world. You can find waterfalls, nature trails, useful plants, aromatic plants and tropical plants. Everything is nicely organised and the atmosphere is quiet and friendly.
This is an ideal place to relax away from stress of city life, and to enjoy the botanical variety and diversity to be found here. Most of the area is designed as an Arboretum.
